If anyone serves Me…the Father will honor him.” John 12:26…The highest recognition in the United States is the Congressional Medal of Honor, which is bestowed for bravery, sacrifice, and devotion beyond the call of duty. How do you earn one? Usually you need to navigate through bullets and bombs to rescue someone in distress. In fact, often the medal is awarded posthumously because the recipient died in the process of defending his or her comrades. What does it mean to gain honor? Honor is the mountaintop after the valley. You must go through the valley first. Traveling the path of humility, you will serve others, forgetting yourself. One day you will awaken to discover that the spotlight of honor never forgot any of your secret acts of service. Ask God to show you the way of service and for Him to guide you as you seek to others in front of yourself. Amen!
